PSHAN’S Contribution To End COVID19 Pandemic

The World Health Organization recently  declared that COVID-19 is no longer a Public Health emergency. One crucial factor in this triumph has been the advocacy for COVID vaccines, which played a vital role in the World Health Organization (WHO) ultimately declaring an end to the pandemic.

One of such advocacy programs conducted by PSHAN is the Covid Awareness programme. The programme was aimed at promoting vaccine trust, addressing misinformation, ensuring equitable access, engaging influential figures, and supporting vaccination campaigns which in turn helped control the spread of the virus and save countless lives.

This was done by collaborating  with other private sector organisations, community organizations, and healthcare professionals to disseminate accurate information about the vaccines, address concerns, and encourage vaccine uptake.

The Head of Memberships and partnerships, Ota Akhigbe was the first guest on the first session of the radio show held at Classic (93.7) FM discussing the factors militating against the effective control of the virus and the necessary steps that can be taken to prevent the spread of the virus.

Through the CAP program PSHAN was able to advocate for the urgent need for resilient and robust health systems that are far reaching to vulnerable people and PSHAN was also able to raise awareness on the need to deploy effective measures to prevent and respond to epidemics/pandemics.
